Brief Synopsis:
Doggoned is a film about Maria, a twenty-something South Asian woman fresh out of university and excited about life in Canada. She loses her right to work legally and tries to make ends meet in the land of art and opportunity. It is a dark comedy with a charming protagonist and a hilarious supporting cast. Doggoned highlights the predicament so many young people face because of immigration laws and legal status issues. Their only option is to either find a spouse or leave the country. Doggoned examines the beautiful life of a complex young woman who fits so well in the landscape, yet the state rejects her.
